Quite a unique style of aged black tea made just after the earthquake of 1999. The tea’s farmer and the growing area were quite affected by the earthquake making it difficult to produce their usual oolong tea.
In order to gain time and efficiency, a decision was made to produce black tea with the Qing Xin cultivars, creating a sweet and well-rounded tea.
At the end of the 2000 season, the remaining tea was kept and stored in central Taiwan and aged slowly over 21 years. This has resulted in an infusion that has an earthy and peppery aroma
